Never thought the day would come, but here it is. I'm in love with a 40-year-old! To celebrate, we decided to act like kids and have a totally awesome 80's party with friends and family. Let me tell you, I had fun with this.
I didn't just buy a jean skirt and jean jacket from the thrift store... I actually acid washed them myself with bleach in my backyard... around midnight! I mean, what else would I be doing at that hour? I thought they turned out so cute!
But I didn't stop there... I went all out. I knew there was a good reason to keep my crimping iron around! Someday I'll use my rollers again too, right?
Russ had a great outfit, too, but somehow in all the excitement I neglected to take a picture of the main man of the night! If anyone took a picture of him, PLEASE give it to me!!
NEWS FLASH! I got a scanned copy of the picture my grandma took, and then I had to try to fix all the specks and fingerprints. I think someone had a nachos supreme before handling this picture, so it's a little rough, but it's something! Just don't look too closely.
I was so jealous of Marsa's hoop earrings. (Thanks for giving Russ the Cyndi Lauper tape... I'm sure he'll cherish it forever!)
[Imagine Aunt Karen' picture here... do you really want me to post that silly pose?!? Lori knows it's awesome, and I know you're all curious, so I'll show it to you if you give me a dollar. Or I'll delete it forever for $20.]
Speaking of Lori, she could pull off this 80's look in 2012. Too cute!
Our guests were the bomb... I mean, they were totally tubular! We had a best-dressed competition, and I had such a hard time choosing because everyone looked so good... so, I left it up to the cheers of the crowd to declare the winner. Ian, you have some lungs on you, buddy. I mean, let's face it, Ian was the real judge.
Lisa won the ladies' division for best dressed... because we all wish we had a bodacious jacket like that!
Wendy knows 80's style, and Trevor looked awesome in that wig. A hot mullet is better than nothing, right? ;)
Andrew won for best-dressed guy. I agree... he's bringing sexy back in the headband and wrist bands!
Pete: "I can't see a thing, but I know I must look awesome in these glasses!"
Nice shirt, Ian. (Ladies, he's taken... I know you're crushed.)
Honorable mention to these two for giving life to and raising the birthday boy and love of my life!
Geoff looking just like he did in the 80's.
Kristen wore an authentic 80's shirt from high school... radical color combo! And the slogan is so apropos :) Luckily, we had Kristen on the ladies' team for the 80's "Scene It" trivia game, but we still couldn't pull off a win.
The lucky wife of the fart shirt guy.
I snapped this shot right in the nick of time... just as Wendy started the "Thriller" dance in the background. Nice moves! (Yes, my mom's wearing the jean jacket I acid washed... way cute! Oops, I missed the insides of the sleeves.)
The GI Joe/Miami Vice combo and the wanna-be mohawk should have won Ben a prize, right? And my dad is looking 80's because he actually bought that shirt in the 80's... see, good thing he didn't ever give that to the DI.
[Imagine pic of Jill here... she would kill me if I posted it. Remember, I take bribes.]
The life of the party always shows up just a little late... love the big bangs!
Hot 80's chicks.
Russ and I had sooo much fun hosting, and our guests just made the party rock! Thanks to all who dressed up and came and had a good time.
As for me, I couldn't let my jean jacket be used only once... so I wore it to church today! So much fun... now I'm going to take a nap.

You should have asked...I think I still have some legwarmers in my dance stuff! :) And I cannot believe you still have a crimper! I know who I'm calling if I ever go to an 80's party! :) Looks like fun!
